About the author
I was born (and still live when not travelling) in Coimbra, Portugal, west coast of Europe. I spent some time living in Silicon Valley while I was a writer and designer for Techcrunch and the lead user experience designer for Edgeio. I returned to Europe to start a design and development consulting business with an odd name, Webreakstuff. Since then I’ve worked with brands like Bell Canada, MTV, Techcrunch or Totspot in bridging the gap between vision and products. I split my time between building user experiences and design thinking.
Consulting
I help companies and people understand how to use social media and Web 2.0 to improve their online presence and turn product vision into reality. Having worked with small and large brands in building successful products, I can translate that knowledge and experience into actionable recommendations for your own case. If you want more information on how I can help you and your business succeed in today’s reality, get in touch.
Speaking
I’ve had the priviledge of being invited to speak at a number of conferences including O’Reilly’s Web 2.0 conference (now I’m a part of the Web 2.0 Europe advisory board), Reboot and Shift. I normally talk about building compelling products, innovation and managing creativity. I try to keep notes of the things I talk about on my blogs.
Blogging
I’ve been blogging since around 2002. In 2005 I started what’s now known as the Webreakstuff blog and joined Techcrunch with Michael Arrington – watching South Park, visiting startups and blogging; Good times. Back then we founded the Web 2.0 Workgroup with Richard MacManus of ReadWriteWeb. Helloform is a new blog and a part of a bigger project I’m not ready to fully unveil yet, but will in due time.
