People who have followed me for a while probably know that I've always been interested in productivity and knowledge work. Recent projects in these areas, like Roam or Obsidian are interesting, but not quite there yet in my personal opinion, for a myriad of reasons. This is an exciting time for tools for thought, and I've been exploring (in both writing as well as code), what the future of this space could look like. More on this soon.
Spending quite a bit of time thinking about data silos. Large ones like Twitter, Slack and Facebook, but also smaller ones like Substack or Clubhouse. About how we're throwing data, knowledge, ideas, conversations into what are effectively black holes. Mostly, I just want people to go back to having their own websites, with their own words in them.
Over the last couple of months I've been meeting people informally to chat, with no real predefined agenda. Some of the conversations have been with people I already knew, and some have been with people I did not know before. It has been great. Matt Webb has been doing something similar and apparently has been loving it too.
Want to chat? Here's a link to set up a 30min call. I normally do these on Wednesdays, but reach out if that doesn't work for you and I'll try my best to work around your schedule.
